Our Outdoor Education Team is excited to offer the following experiences:
Frontiersman Day
Call for dates and info
Spend the day as a frontiersman. Learn wilderness skill such as trapping, tracking, shelter building, and more. Ages: 9 to 12
Wilderness Survival Day
Call for dates and info
Challenge yourself as you and your team overcome an obstacle course, navigate with compass and map, and build a fire and a shelter. Ages: 11 to 13
Field Science Exploration Day
Call for dates and info
Experience what is like to be a scientist out in the field. We will hunt fossils, catch pond critters, take a bird census, and make an archeology dig. Ages: 8 to 12
Ohio History Family Camp
Call for dates and info
Enjoy a family experience exploring the history of our region. Families can reenact Native American and pioneer events, tour the museum and mounds of Ft Ancient, create crafts and work with authentic pioneer tools. This will be an active, family oriented adventure.
Wildflower Hikes
Sundays - April and May
1pm to 3pm
Hike the trails of Camp Kern and enjoy the beauty of spring. We will offer a couple guided hikes, one over easy terrain the other down into the river valley. No charge, but donations to our camper scholarship fund are gladly accepted.
Boating Safety and Canoe Lesson
Sundays in May
1pm to 3pm
This family oriented, hands-on event is designed to get you and your children ready for summer river trips or vacations at the lake. No charge, but donations to our camper scholarship fund are gladly accepted.
