Boys and Girls Main Camp Counselor
Must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate

Lives in a cabin with up to ten campers and assumes responsibility for leadership and guidance of campers.  Leads or assists in leading instructional camping skill sessions such as: archery, canoeing, the climbing wall, radio, sports, and drama.  Is responsible for interpreting the rules, policies, and traditions of Camp Kern to campers.  Must have a “Kids First” vision and place the camper’s safety and camp experience first.  Is responsible for motivating camper participation in camp programs, cabin activities, and meals.  Must encourage a fun, positive, and safe environment within the parameters of the YMCA mission. 

Weekly wage: $215 plus room and board
